photo of Myra BloomThe Grad Program in English is delighted to welcome Dr. Myra Bloom, who teaches contemporary Canadian Lit in the Department of English at Glendon College.

Professor Bloom specializes contemporary Canadian and Québécois literature (anglophone and francophone). Her scholarship focuses on confessional literature/theory, women’s (life) writing, feminist aesthetics/poetics, experimental/avant-garde writing, and anglophone/francophone relationships in fiction. She is currently editing a special issue of English Studies in Canada on the topic of “Autofiction in the Age of the Self(ie).” Myra has written on Sheila Heti, Michel Tremblay, Heather O’Neill, Marie-Claire Blais, and Elizabeth Smart. She has published essays, reviews and interviews in The Walrus, The LA Review of Books, and The Literary Review of Canada.
